I got better things to do,掏了两毛钱给了算。

I agree the sign is a little misleading and the stall assistant could have explained to you in a better manner. But, if you check the price in the market, you will note that "meicai" is actually quite expensive compared to fresh greens. Plus, you need to cook with meat/bones to give that wonderful favour. So, for that price and extra, not so bad to pay 20 cents more. Anyway, i tried that stall before and the food is very average.

If that is really their tatic to earn that extra few cents more, I would say they are really short-sighted.

Once bitten, twice shy. Customers cheated once will never return again. The boss is the one who lose out in the end.

Fong:you are right in a way about the difficulty of preparing "meicai" and that it is much expensive than normal "qingcai", but hey, hawkers get to choose what to sell, right? if they think that particular dish doesn't worth the effort and cost, then just simply don't sell that dish..
I have seen a better way of doing this at another stall, where instead of a fix price, they would put something like "Meat:$1.00 - $1.50, Fish:(Price according to market)". Even though it is still vague, but there's a range.

DC:I also wonder what the boss will do if he/she sees what happen..

Yossi Candice Huth:
